hoorah for childhood tv shows
Hey guys.... on break from school I've been doing what I normally do which includes a lot of TV watching and Videogames. In 2009, I was saddened to hear that power Ranger after over 17 seasons was pronounced KIA by the owner of the franchise at the time(which happened to be Disney) due to contract issues in New Zealand where they do the filming for the show. Being a child of the 90's and growing up with power rangers it was a sad thing to hear cuz power rangers is one of those shows like barney or dora the explorer whom are almost immortal due to the fact their audience will never disappear as long as children exist on this planet but now it had seemed it would meet its end. I would walk past the toy aisle to get to the electronics at target to see the aisle that was once Power Ranger territory by the goofy looking batman toys from the new series (batman the brave and the bold), Tron Toys, various comic book action figures and ben 10 toys......thats a sad site to see for a 90's child after seeing many of the things he grew up watching being replaced by these lousy excuses for cartoons that in my honest has a higher probability of screwing up a childs mentality more then any of the violent slapstick cartoons we grew up with like Dragonball Z, Looney Tunes, Animaniacs....."those cartoons are too violent" Rubbish I say...if your kid's stupid enough to think that wacking a dude upside the baseball bat is okay just because they do in the cartoon you've failed to do your job as a parent......
but out of the ashes I was Happy to hear that Saban(the original franchise owner and founder) bought back rights to the show and it shall live again in the year to come. Long-Live Power Rangers and all of its cheesy goodness
