May the 4th be with Hugh...
So I went down to London on wednesday with my friend to watch the fantastic Hugh Laurie (aka House) perform his new blues album "Let Them Talk" in a church. It was crazy, the man doesn't seem to have any flaws, he's a fantastic actor, an astounding musician, and he performed every song to perfection with ease. His band too were amazing and often between songs Hugh would joke with them. I've always been a huge fan of Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie and they have influenced me throughout my life for as long as I can remember, and for most of that time I've always thought I favoured Fry (whom I saw in London last September) but after the inspiring performance from Hugh on wednesday I think my feelings have leaned towards the world's highest paid actor. To make things even better, we were in the same room as the talented Rowan Atkinson (aka Mr Bean/Blackadder), Harry Enfield, and Amber Tamblyn (aka Martha Masters from 'House') and to top it off Hugh Laurie was only about 2 metres away from us! All in all it was one of the best nights of my life, I've already pre-ordered the collectors edition of Hugh's album which should arrive any day, and my eyes have been opened to a genre of music I never thought I would be too fond of. Go out and buy it! |
