I'll give it a try, but my problem is that I'm horribly desensitized to being immersed into anything at all. I find too many flaws with things I'm watching or playing. Additionally, it just seems like the monster attacks in Dead Space are too obvious.

Like, every time I see one of those rectangular vents, I think "Oh. There's a pretty good chance that a necromorph is going to come flying out of that at any time. Better tread lightly." Or when I come our of a hallway and into an open room "An open room? How much you wanna bet this room will go into quarantine, and I won't be able to get out until I kill everything?"

And it didn't help that the doors were almost entirely monster-proof. Unless you were being chased by the one that regenerates, you could almost always just close a door behind you and viola. You're completely safe. And then there's the ease at which body parts separate themselves from bodies. Seriously, let's see you stomp somebody's shoulder ONCE and completely remove their arm. Not bloody likely.
