abandon hope
They say sarcasm is bad, that it is anger expressed verbally. I say it is a protective armor that shields you from the pain inflicted by hope. Perhaps it is time the "box" was emptied once and for all. For what has hope done for anyone that logic and careful planning didn't do (or couldn't of done) better? At best it kept some people alive long enough to die slowly, and at worst it caused them to look for safety in places only pain was to be found. Cast aside your hope, and hold tight your sarcasm, for in it you will at least find the solace of truth...if you are well versed enough in sarcasm to recognize it. Is it nihilistic? Somewhat. But better to abandon one's humanity than to suffer the lifelong pain of living with it, only to die with the lie of hope on the forefront of your mind. |
