Life, Liberty, & the Pursuit of Demons
So, I realize this is totally stupid, but I don't care. I've started working on something I call "Life, Liberty, & the Pursuit of Demons." I came up with the idea while in a teacher training yesterday, and I posted images of some sketches I did based on the idea. Last night and today I wrote out the first draft of my plot outline. It's not well written (because it's not meant to be; it's just an outline), so I'm not sharing it, but here's the general synopsis: In his experiments with electricity, Benjamin Franklin inadvertently allows a powerful demon to enter our world and possess his body. He goes into hiding and begins building an army to invade the capital and eventually the world. When Thomas Jefferson dies in 1826, he is chosen by a mysterious force (known in my outline as simply, "The Voice") to hunt down Demon Franklin and destroy him. Like I said, I know it's silly. My more detailed summary has other ridiculous details and is more developed than this, but that's the basics so far. It may be retarded, but it's been fun to work on so far. I'm thinking about somehow involving the Civil War as an explanation for why Franklin took so long to develop the device after losing Jackson, but I don't know, yet. And that, my friends, is what the state of South Carolina has been paying me to do the last two days. Huzzah for public education, eh?
