New threads and you.
It seems that it's time for a new journal and I decided to talk about the fact that over 90% of the new threads on the forums get locked before the 10th reply, why?
Various reasons really, most common are:
- Repeated thread
- Favorit thread
- Versus thread
- Listing thread
- Useless thread (one that won't create a worthwhile discussion)
- Wrong section of the forum.
In order to avoid this, we need to be proactive, my idea is that people should have to answer a Questionnaire. Everytime a user clicks on [add thread] he would have to answer the following questions:
1. Are you sure that there isn't another thread that already covers this subject?
[ ] Yes.
[ ] No. Click here to be sure.
2. Have you read the Rules and the other posts in the First Stop section?
[ ] Yes.
[ ] No. Go read them!
3. After reading all the sections available in our forums, are you sure your thread belongs in this one?
[ ] Yes.
[ ] No.
[ ] Maybe. - Don't.
4. Are you sure this subject is thread worthy?
[ ] Yes.
[ ] No.
5. Really sure?
[ ] Yes.
[ ] No.
6. Don't lie to me
[ ] Yes.
[ ] No.
[ ] That's not a yes/no kind of question, is it?
7. Do you think other people will find it thread worthy?
[ ] Yes.
[ ] No.
[ ] How the fuck am I supposed to know, dickhead?
8. Are you getting mad?
[ ] Yes.
[ ] No.
[ ] Fuck you!
9. Do you still want to create a thread after all this?
[ ] Yes, god damn it, is it ever going to end?
[ ] Sure, any more questions? I love answering them!
[ ] No, it's not worth the trouble anymore.
