The Last Day ...
Wow that sounds oddly ominous, but I honestly didn't mean it that way. Today, for those of you who don't look at a calendar, blackberry, iphone, computer screen or any other device that tells the date and time, is the end of February. Yes it comes around every year, and yes it's not that special, that is if you don't count the fact that every 4 years the end is not the 28th, but in fact the 29th, then again the fact that February, which if you have notice I have spell correctly (with out using the trusty spell-check in Firefox) twice, ends on the 28th or 29th depending on if's a leap year or not, which we have already established can happen. That gets me thinking, why is it that February ends on the 28th (or 29th -- from this point forward, let's automatically add this fact in -- OK. OK!!). I am going to have to look this up. Here is another thing, why do some months end on the 30th, while others end on the 31st. As I was writing that last sentence I realize that each month is based on the lunar calendar and this is why some are 31 days, others are 30 and finally why February is 28. Well that was an interesting thought. See you all again in a few months. |
