though i do have to warn you of one of our "bad" qualities (especially in the east) which is never EVER disgrace or dishonor someone. lool, sometimes we take that too seriously.
i'll tell you something. I NEVER lived in libya before two years ago. but i travelled the world quite a lot. my most surprise is when i go to other arab countries, and they ask me where i'm from, they become pleasantly surprised and would talk very kindly about how good libyans are. i'm not trying to be one sided here. i was actually shocked cuz there aren't a lot of us in the world (we're a population of only 6 million) so when i hear them talk up and down about us it really did surprise me.
i have to say probably the best quality of us is our hospitality. if you were to come visit here, u'd probably spend most of your time going from one house to another as an invited guest and they wont let you go until you're stuffed to the brim with good food.
Libyans, in general, have developed a pretty good (though sometimes rough) sense of humor. kindness is throughout the country, but i think even people from the western region say that libyans in the east are generally much kinder.
misratah is an example where religious conservatism is taken VERY seriously. you wont find women in the street dressed provocatively like they do in Tripoli. though they are still known to be kind, VERY smart, and super hard working.
Benghazi is also somewhat conservative, at least more so than tripoli, but pretty...umm...loosey-goosey i guess?
so yeah, we're pretty much all over the spectrum in libya.
Sirt...i dont know what's gonna happen to it. its probably best that i'm not a politician because i have extreme hate for sirt right now. not because it got lots of money, libyans dont give a shit about money. only because its people (i use that term very loosely) are known to be dirty scheemers and troublemakers. most of his goons in power come from sirt and they're all corrupt bastards. not to mention to this day they haven't risen up against the government and SCUD missiles are still being launched from there.
i honestly have no love for sirt at all right now.
hahaha, i have neither the political experience nor the memory capacity to keep track of everything that i say to be suitable for politics. though i'd most likely spread word of political events and encourage people to go vote. maybe even offer an alternate perspective on political debates.
as for the bounty, i think that's a good idea. his goons are nothing but greedy and selfish bastards. now he'll know what it feels like to have a 1 million Euro target on his back just like he offered on Abdul-Jaleel's head.
well, in terms of accent then i have very little trouble distinguishing irish from english from scottish. its kind of a hobby of mine to learn how to at least play off a little bit other accents.
as for the leaving certificates, i had no idea about them so i can't really say. from what i read its pretty much a school full of high officials' kids so pretty much normal libyans dont attend them (go figure).
man, this guy did NOTHING good for the country. dont get me started on the education system. its practically non-existent: full of bribes, horrid teachers, and schools that resemble prisons more than anything else. its just sooooooooo sad. i think they reported once that libya's wealth ranks 7th in the world, but education wise we rank 150-something.
i watched the Argentina-Brazil game in Cork at a bar last year. MAN i never thought i'd find so many Brazillians in Ireland! good times. that's where i tried to distinguish between different mannerisms since i visit the England quite often. that's why i asked.
