Bork'd MacBook.
Broke my MacBook's SATA cable in the process of installing a new hard drive. Fun times. In other news, I now know that Seagate makes a 'SSD hybrid drive'. It's basically a normal mechanical hard drive, but it has 4GB of onboard NAND storage that caches the most read files on the drive. Seems pretty cool, and it's definitely faster that the stock 5400RPM drive that came with my MacBook, so I'm looking forward to the new SATA cord getting in so I can start making use of it. While I was at Best Buy, I also picked up 8 GB of RAM to max out the slots on the laptop. |
