For those that don't know, I just finished my second year of law school, and would like to get involved in intellectual property law. Now, I don't have the science background required for patent work, but I love all things copyright and trademark. Being a "closet geek" as I refer to myself, I am always looking for a way to bring my passions and interests together - it is something that I have had to think about as I get ready to graduate and look for jobs in the legal industry, most of which I find dry and unappealing.
Anyways, there is a podcast called Law of the Geek, put out by two attorneys from my neck of the woods: St. Louis.
It is exactly what it sounds like - both attorneys are gamers, comic book readers and all around geeks, who have been able to bring their passions together. They discuss current and past cases dealing with games, comic books, movies, TV shows, you name it! I like it because it is in very simple terms, the law is correct and current, and there is actually quite a bit of humor involved too.
If you have some extra time, and that kind of thing interests you, I highly recommend it. It has certainly made this law student/closet geek VERY happy in the meantime.
