What a great event!
I'm so glad I didn't wuss out of going to Red vs Blue Canwest. I want to thank the fine group of young guys who welcomed me and helped me find the way to the event. You weren't quite so helpful when it came to finding the after party though *lol* I didn't much like the idea of being lost on my own in Vancouver, so yeah.... that was back to the skytrain for me. Too bad. I wonder what the after party was like. It would have been so great if I got to talk personally with any of the RvsB staff about how they do their magic, and any advice they may have. Then again, if it isn't akward enough for a casual Red vs Blue fan to show up at the event, it certainly would have been to see me in a pub environment! =P

Well, maybe next time.

The event itself sure got off to a slow start. I'm sure glad the actual theatre viewing was nice and long after all the standing we had to do! Especially our group. We got there like 40 minutes early. I really didn't know what else we were going to see there. The other videos were cool, and I was really surprised with Drawn by Pain. That was almost a little too dark for my tastes, but then again, sometimes I can really relate to dark stories like that. It was really clever and deep.

And then Red vs Blue season 5! I actually never seen that season, so that kind of paid off nice for me. But wow, its so cool to see it on a big screen with a live audience laughing at all the jokes! It's such a cool feeling. So many gamer geeks! So I actually didn't feel too out of place, lol. I only wish I was less shy, so I could have met more people, or one of the girls. Then again, showing up was a pretty big thing for me anyways.

I was ready to win something, but I didn't, but hey that's ok.... I might have felt guilty to win any Halo stuff when I never even played Halo....heh. I wish they would have sold merchanise though, cause I would have bought a DVD or two, and maybe a shirt.

OH! And what has to be the most bizarre coincidence I've ever noticed, is that we met a guy at the event, and OMG.... he looks almost EXACTLY like my great friend in Australia, who happens to be a HUGE Red vs Blue fan and was really envious of me going! I didn't catch his name (holy crap I wonder if its "Dave" lol), but that was freaky man..... It's like he was there with me. But I knew he couldn't have come all the way from Australia for the event, and he didn't have the accent lol. So yeah Dave, if you're reading this, I hope you're aware that you have a twin brother, or a clone. Which one of you is evil? hehehe

Overall, it was a great time. I didn't take full advantage of it, but what I did go to was great. I thank everyone for being such cool people. I think I'll try harder from now on to contribute to the community discussions once in a while ; )
